After finishing our first attempt at the OTS we knew we needed to make some changes. One of these changes would be the sound used. We thought that a heartbeat sound effect would be effective at the start of the OTS as it could help build the tension straight away. However, after adding in the heartbeat sound effect in two places during our OTS we later realised that it wasn't really working. This sound effect was not necessary at the very start because it didn't fit with the visuals on screen. We figured that a heartbeat sound effect should be used to build the tension and create an unsettled atmosphere as it can be used when a character is feeling anxious and unsettled. But at this point in our OTS Shannon is unaware that she is being stalked by someone so, if anything, this sound should be used when Shannon is in the car park. To replace the heart beat sounds we will use low drones to help create an unsettled atmosphere for the audience.
Another thing we are going to change after analysing our first attempt we noticed that our transitions were making our OTS less scary. With the fade transitions throughout it makes our shots look like they're running smoothly and that its a fairly normal scene you could find in any other film. But if we deleted these fade transitions and made our shots choppy and quick then this would really set the atmosphere and make our audience feel like they are watching a horror film.
